BQ27Z746: How to turn on DSG MOSFETs earlier?

Part Number: BQ27Z746
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Our product have problem on recovering dead battery by our device.

We found when our battery got CUV, the DSG did not turn on earlier than system power up loading rise up.

And it will lead system power up fail.

Is there any way to let the DSG MOSFETs turn on earlier?

PASS situation:

Here’s the Pass waveform, we can see there’s a discharging peak loading after inserting type-C cable for 2.4sec.

This peak loading was too much to lead battery discharged.

This battery can recover successfully, looks like DSG was turned on earlier then the peak loading.

Fail situation:

Here’s the Fail waveform, we can see the DSG did not turn on before the peak loading at 2.4sec.

The system can not get power from battery and lead system shutdown.

  • Hello Jian,

Please share the .gg file with the configurations you're using and a BQStudio log of the test so we can see what is occurring from the gauge's perspective. I'm not sure what state the gauge is in during the start of the test, depending on if any protections were triggered or how low the battery voltage is will vary what we need review.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
