BQ24170: VREF pin output is 0V

Hi,

I am using BQ24170RGYR in one of my design for battery charging.

In this circuit, VREF pin output observed is 0V, whereas datasheet says it has to be 3.3V, are there any initialization that needs to be done for VREF to be 3.3V.

Hi Nikhil,

VREF gets power from AVCC. If AVCC has power and is not outside the over/under voltage per OVPSET, VREF and REGN should be up. I suspect either the OVPSET resistors or the ISET, ACSET, TS or STAT resistors are not installed with values per the schematic.
