    May I ask you, do I have to turn on MPPT mode when I use BQ25798 for 5A charging?
    There is no documentation on how to use 5A charging.
    In addition, do I need to configure the register again for each charging cycle to enter the 5A charging mode?

    Hi Albert,

    No.  MPPT is optional. As long as the WD timer does not expire or is disabled, the charger retains the charge current setting.  Achieving 5A charging is challenging for this charger due to package power dissipation limitation.  I recommend using 750kHz switching frequency and 2.2uH inductor for highest efficiency.  Even then, the package may get too hot and force the IC into thermal regulation.
