LMG2100R044: can it achieve 100% duty cycle?

Part Number: LMG2100R044

Hi Team,

just want to check if it can achieve 100% duty cycle.

since it has high side FET which use boostrap cap to drive it. Does LSFET need to turn on to charge Cboot (HS turn off) or is there internal another FET to charge boostrap that HS FET can turn on for 100% duty?

BTW, does integrated driver has miller clamp circuit? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

The low side FET will need to turn on to allow the bootstrap cap time to charge, so the high side FET will need to be off for a small portion of time. I have reached out to our systems engineer to better understand the driver set up and if it utilizes a miller clamp circuit. I will respond here once they let me know.

  • Hi Given,

I have a correction for the above reply. You can use an isolated bias supply for the high side device in the LMG2100 by connecting it to the HB and HS pins in order to achieve 100% duty cycle for the high side device.

To answer the second question, the integrated driver does not have a miller clamp circuit.
