TPS28225: Is there a duty limit on TPS28225

Part Number: TPS28225

Hi

Is there a duty limit for TPS28225 as well?
Ask if there is a possible min/max value.

Thanks

  • Hi David,

The part does not have an inherent limit to duty cycle; it can hold UGATE on or off indefinitely as long as its set up properly for that.

The bootstrap supply for the high side does impose a duty cycle limit because it requires LGATE to turn on occasionally to recharge. It is usually possible to reach very high duty cycles of >98% using the bootstrap circuit, but it must be designed well.

It can hold off in DC, but small pulses can be an issue. There should be no pulses under 30ns in width. The duty cycle that corresponds to depends on the Fsw of the system so I can't give a number.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
