TPS25947: Short circuit behavior

I have a question regarding the difference between scalable threshold and fast trip threshold in the TPS25497. Both tSC and tFT have the same value - 500ns. Since they have the same response time, why are there two different thresholds? It seems like the scalable comparator will trip before the fast trip in case of a short circuit fault anyway (since Isc is lower than IFT).

Hi Rohit,

That is true scalable comparator will trip before fixed fast-trip. Fixed fast-trip we have kept just like an additional layer of protection. Scalable is the one which will act first.
