Hi David,
During the normal operation of the device, holding the UDIM pin lower than "V_UDIM-LP" for a period longer than "T_UDIM-DET" will disable the TPS92641.
When the TPS92641 has been disabled, holding the UDIM pin higher than "V_TH-UDIM" will enable the device.
You can refer to Section 6.5 Electrical Characteristics from the datasheet for these parameters.

If a short current rising / falling time is needed, I would recommend using SDIM with shunt FET to achieve this.
Otherwise, you can consider using UDIM. But the around 1000ms / 30 *50% = 16.67ms off-time may disable the IC and later the IC may need some time to startup, which will lead to a slower current rising time.
