TIDA-010208:Is it still up to date?

Part Number: TIDA-010208
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952, BQ76200, TIDA-010216

I will design a parallel connected high side mosfet driver circuit and I am reviewing your reference designs. Our reference design TIDA-010208 seems to fit this bill. Is this design still used? Have you made any changes?

Also I have another question:  We want to drive our MOSFETs with appropriate pins via the MCU. We will not use CHG-DSG DCHG-DDSG pins. Will driving Mosfets via MCU with PWM without using these pins cause any

problems on the BQ76952 side?

Thank you in advance, I wish you good work,

  • Hi,

All TIDA-010208 designs files on ti.com are updated. No changes.

If using MCU to drive high side or low side MOSFETs, I assume you need extra drivers since MCU is normally 3.3V and not strong enough to drive MOSFETs. You may look at TIDA-010216 for low side MOSFET and BQ76200 which is a high side MOSFET driver.

BQ76952 doesn't have problems if leaving DSG, CHG, DDSG, DCHG pin floating.
