LM5177EVM-HP: Frequency choice

Hi,

I evaluate LM5177EVM-HP for DC 24V power suply and i did'nt find information about frequency choice. 

I suppose that bigger are frequency, most accurate signals will be, but what about performance ?

What could be the reason (or diseavantage) for high frequency ?

    Increasing the frequency has positive and negative effects, so it is always a tradeoff between size, efficiency and thermal performance.

    If you increase the frequency, the losses in the switches will increase, the inductor size decreases, the necessary input and output caps decrease. The efficiency often decreases as well, which can be compensated by choosing different external components. Especially for high power converters, you might no longer be able to dissipate the power if the components get smaller and closer together.

    So there is not a single reason for increasing or decreasing frequency.
