I have a question regarding UPOE support on TPS2372-3 PD. with single PD device configured as class 4 (both class A and B resistors are set at 63.4 ohms) device and no LLDP connected to UPOE switch, what will happen if UPOE PSE is forced to source power on all 4 pairs. How would UPOE switch will see PD. as two class 4 devices ? or will it see it as a single class 4 device?

Thanks for reaching out.

UPOE PSE uses two AT 2-pairs to build a 4-pairs output. The power can be 60W from PSE and 51W from PD.

In a 51-W PD case, if you use UPOE PSE, you can use a MCU on the single-PD side to do LLDP with the PSE. If you can only do forced handshake, you will need two PDs since there will be two handshake events.
