We are developing DC-DC converter for trucks as per below specifications.

 

We Have studied the TI reference design TIDA-020031  which is closer to our project,  major difference is operating voltage range.

 

Kindly advice suitable parts

 

Project Specification :

 

Project Name : 9 KW DC DC Converter

 

Input Voltage Range : 450 - 800VDC

 

Nominal DC output Voltage : 27.8VDC

 

Output Operating Voltage range : 20 - 28VDC

 

Maximum Output Power : 9KW (4 X 2.25 KW or 2 X 4.5 KW Paralleling Model )

 

Targeted Efficiency : 95%

 

Operating Temperature :  -40 C to 70 C

 

Application : Electric  Vehicle, The DC DC Converter interfaces the LV side of the vehicles to the HV side Battery and can be used to charge the LV batteries, providing power to LV Loads.

    The UCC28951-Q1 will work for high power design such as yours.   Please note since your power level is roughly 3 times as high, you will most likely have to redesign the power stage.

    The following link will bring you to an application note that goes through the step by step design process of designing a UCC28951 in a phase shifted full bridge. There is a link to an excel file in the application note that uses the same equations as in the application note.  The application note and excel design tool should help you in the design process and selecting components for your design.
