BQ34110: Flash configuration

Hello BQTeam,

I have some difficulties to configure the BQ34110 gauge. I use a 3S NiMH battery pack.

When I read the voltage with voltage() command, that don’t return the good voltage : 22800 mV instead of 3320 mV.

Moreover, the batterystatus stays at 0x00 even with a negative current.

I attached the gg file. Can you verify it please ?

To configure the flash, i use the following steps :

CAL_TOGGLE (0x002d)
Write all flash datas
RESET (0x0041)
CAL_TOGGLE (0x002d)

Is it the good method ? i work on STM32 and i don’t have the demo board yet.

Hi Estelle,

Can you confirm that you have performed a successful learning cycle for this gauge?

Also, if you are having issues configuring the flash, please try following this format found in the bq33110 Technical Reference Manual:

Hi Anthony,

Thank you for your reply. Now, I can write and read in the flash. When I wrote, I inverted the sens of data in MACData, that explain why the flash wasn't well configured.

Now, when I read the batterystatus, in discharge mode, I obtained 0x0001 directly read with oscillloscope. Does that mean dsg = 1 or batlow = 1 (little-endian as voltage() command) ?

Correct, this would be read as 00 01 where dsg = 1.
