BQ25890: software issue

Part Number: BQ25890

There is a problem in the process of using BQ25890: after we turn off the watchdog function, we must delay the configuration of other registers for about 1S(the time may be shorter) to succeed, if there is no delay or a short delay time, the register configuration can not be written in,

want to confirm whether this is normal, whether there is a delay configuration requirement, and what is the min delay interval?

  • Hello Albert,

Thank you for reaching out via E2E. When configuring the BQ25890 there should be no delay requirement beyond the timing requirements defined in the I2C bus specification.

The charger also supports multi-write and multi-read functionality for all registers besides the fault register REG0C.

How are you determining the register cannot be properly written? Is the BQ25890 returning a not acknowledge (NACK)?

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
