TPS24710: Behavior Clarification

Hi expert,

Customer used TPS24710 and see the Vin has fluctuation during power off. It seems to me the load may drop slower than EN drop below UVLO and energy back drive to input.

They tried to add a cap on EN to GND and no more this symptom.

Would you please advise what might it happened? Is adding the cap workaround good? Any side effect?

Hi Allan,

EN pin has a small hysteresis of 50 mV. This causes the jitters on the VIN as the device is entering into the UVLO and immediately coming out of the UVLO.

Therefore, it's always recommended to put 1 nF to 10 nF ceramic capacitor across the EN pin and GND. You can refer to the EVM user's guide.
