Hi,

We are using BQ24171 charger IC in our board and 103AT NTC thermistor. We want to set charging temperature T1 = 0ºC for COLD and T5 = 45ºC for HOT. Please tell me calculated RT1 and RT2 values for this temperature range.

HI Akilarasan,

BQ24171 has JEITA TS function which has WARM and COOL and T5=60 C. For non-JEITA, HOT/COLD TS function, please change to the BQ24172.

Hi Jeff,

So you are saying BQ24171 has fixed temp range. If I want to charge the battery within 0 to 45C means I have to use BQ24172. Is it correct?

Akilarasan,

Yes. BQ24171 has some flexibility by changing the TS pin resistor but not enough to move HOT from 60 C to 45C. BQ24172 is the same as BQ24172 except for the TS function.

Hi Jeff,

So I can use BQ24172 instead of BQ24171. Both of them share same pins and functionality except that TS pin and footprint, size also same?
