BQ40Z50: Max anticipated current flow through BAT pin 32

Part Number: BQ40Z50

Hi,

Could you please advise as to the max anticipated current flow (mA) through the BAT pin 32? There is blocking diode (D1) connected to pin which I need to protect for thermal compliance given that our application is intrinsically safe. I therefore need to install a fuse upstream of the blocking diode to control the thermal rise of the diode. I don't want to set the fuse too low to wear it blows due to the normal current consumption of the BQ40Z50 IC.

Would it be safe to install a 50 mA fuse on the BAT pin track and not disrupt the normal current consumption of the IC? Or would it be better to install a 100 mA fuse to avoid any operational issues?

Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Joe DeWitt
