UCD90320: USB Interface Adapter V1 vs V2 connected to UCD90320 using Fusion Design Software

Part Number: UCD90320

Hello,

We're trying to program the UCD90320 power supply sequencer in Fusion Design Software's Firmware and Configuration Download Tool.

  • Version 1 of the programmer (2006 sticker) works in both the release Fusion Design Software and the beta release 7.9.8.
  • Version 2 of the programmer (2022 sticker) cannot program the UCD90320 under either release of the Fusion Design Software.

May I ask the following questions:

  1. Are you able to confirm/reproduce this bug?
  2. Please can you advise on how we can program the UCD90320's configuration file using Version 2 of the USB Interface Adapter?

See below, the message log when we try to use the TI USB Interface Adapter with TI Fusion release 7.9.8.Beta, along with a photograph of the two different programmers.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

  • Hi

    USB-TO-GPIO Dongle 2022 works with Fusion 7.9.8.

I would suggest to upgrade your 2022 dongle firmware via the below tool USB Adapter Firmware Download :

  • Hello Yihe,

Many thanks for posting this.  We have managed to successfully program the device in 7.9.8 Beta using v2.1.0.0 of the adapter.

We tried updating the adapter, and found that only 2.1.0.0 firmware is available with no other options present, so the adapters were running the latest firmware anyway.

I'm afraid to say that the problem lay on our end.  We were actually clicking "Scan for Devices (Does Not Effect Settngs Above)" to check whether we had a good connection between software and UCD90320 before we clicked "Start".  It actually turns out that this function is not working on USB2GPIOv2 adapter, but it is working on version 1 of the adapter.

Please would you be able to test the "Scan for Devices" at your end to confirm this?

    Many thanks!

  • Hi

Please see the results from "Scan for Devices "
