Caleb is such an amazing person; he helped me set up the Monte Carlo simulation using Pspice for TI. Now, I am attempting to simulate the same project using two other tools, but in both tools, the output is zero. I am expecting to achieve 3.3V, which was achieved with Pspice. I downloaded the libraries from the TI website.

yes sure.

VCC = VIN = 5V

V(SS) = 3.731V.

V(LG) = 4.821V.

V(HG) = 4.821V.

V(OUT) = 488.7mV

Hi Mohammed,

We don't have deep knowledge of other simulators. Especially those that are offered by our competitors. Having said that, if the provider of the other Spice simulation tools can provide guidance on where they are not PSpice compliant, we can work from there.

I've tried Altium Designer and LTspice, and I obtained the same output in both tools. In my opinion, the issue may be related to a problem with the unencrypted model library.

I've simulated the same model using Ti components just to verify that the results will be the same in all simulation tools. But it wasn't that's why i am asquing for your help.

It does seem to point to the model as the source of the problem.

Thank you for sharing, but those links couldn't resolve the problem.

A friendly reminder, I did the same steps on both model and I'm only encountering the problem with the transient model and everything works fine with the average model.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you decode why another simulator doesn't correctly simulate our model.

My best advice would be to reach out to Altium. As a neutral vendor, they may be motivated to diagnose the problem.

If you do decide to contact Altium please let me know and I can try to coordinate with them.

The issue isn't solely related to Altium; I faced the same problem when using LTspice. That's why, I suspect that the problem lies within the model's library.

I cannot work with LTSpice. They are a direct competitor to TI. 

Please open a ticket with Altium. There is no problem with the PSpice model as it runs in PSpice. The issue appears to be how other simulators are interpreting the model.

Please let me know if you can get an Altium help request submitted and the ticket # so I can work with Altium on this.

I'm not entirely convinced that the issue might be related to Altium Designer. As I mentioned previously, I tried two other tools apart from Pspice and encountered the same results. I simulated the average model of the same component, and everything works well across all the tools( Pspice, LTspice,Altium Designer).

Nevertheless, I've submitted an Altium ticket; the number is 00686047.

Here's a link that explains the difference between a transient and average model.

It's not a surprise that the average model works across simulators. It's annoying that the transient model doesn't, but that really depends on the complexity of the model, and what specific features of PSpice it might take advantage of that other simulators do differently.

I just checked with Altium. They won't talk to me about it, but did say you can add a case comment for further assistance. "if the provided solution comment helped or not and any detail to advance the issue with the Specialist working." At least, that's what they said.
