TPS25762-Q1: Source Power Policy Management

Part Number: TPS25762-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25772-Q1

In application note <<TPS2576x/TPS2577x-Q1 Source Power Policy Management>>

we can manually set each port power delivery and the total power sharing between them, how could that be possible in case we choose TPS25762 as it only has one port , in case we need two ports, how the 2 chips seperately dynamic adjust each power and always keep the total power less than the setting value? the real time communication channel is I2C?

  • Hello Xiaoyu,

The TPS25762-Q1 device's SPM Engine does not include the Multi-Port Power Allocation Policy as it is a single-port PD controller.

If 2 ports are needed, please see the TPS25772-Q1, which is the dual-port variant -> www.ti.com/.../TPS25772-Q1

The SPM's Multi-Port Power Allocation Policy is specific to the dual-port variant, the TPS25772-Q1.

    BR,
