BQ24297: BQ24297 VS BQ24298.

Part Number: BQ24297
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24298

BQ24297 VS BQ24298:

We desinged and tested our pcb where we have pmic charger connected with USB typ C connector.

For de testing we use te reference BQ24297 and BQ24298, The both reference work properly, now we should choose one refrence and we don't know which one.

Can we have your support to choose the correcte reference for our desing (efficiency, Lifecycle, Cost...)?

  • Hello SAID,

In terms of Lifecycle and Efficiency this should be the very similar if not the same for both units. In terms of cost this is something to be discussed with a sales representative or through the TI store as a comparison of both units.

From a technical perspective, the chips should be mostly the same with a few differences:

    • The BQ24297 uses D+/D- detection in order to detect the current source when VBUS is connected, the BQ24298 is PSEL is used to limit current based on the input.
    • BQ24297 also provide SYS Overcurrent Protection whereas the BQ24298 does not.
    • Precharge default settings is different

    Best Regards,
