BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34Z100-G1:

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Hi,
I am designing a UPS in which I have a battery charger to charge a 21V battery pack (5 x 4.2V Lithium Ion batteries in series).

The battery pack has 3 x wires (Batt+, Batt- & NTC) and the BMS is built into the battery pack as per the Datasheet.

Question:

Can I use, BQ34Z100-G1 as a Fuel Guage monitor with a battery pack with built-in BMS?

Thanks,

  • Hello Prabhu,

Yes you can use a top of stack gauge outside of the normal BMS. The only issue comes when the BMS shut off power to the system and also the gauge, the gauge will lose the sate information and it could cause gauge inaccuracies when this occurs.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
