BQ27427: Is there any way to change the CC gain value with the + sign through the "0427_2_02-bq27427.gm.fs" file generated by Battery Management Studio

Is there any way to change the CC gain value with the + sign through the "0427_2_02-bq27427.gm.fs" file generated by Battery Management Studio?

  • Hello Young Hoon Cha,

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, are you wanting to change the sign of the CC Gain value? If so, using bqStudio you can change the sign of the "CC Gain" parameter in the "Calibration" section of data memory.

    Regards,

    Jonny.

  • Hello Jonny,

    Thank you for the reply.

    You had understood correctly.
I want to make a *.gm.fs file that has a piece of information to write reg 0x45(sign info of CC gain value with flipped bit7 ) and reg 0x60(checksum value with bit 7 is flipped) reg after entering config update mode to change the CC gain value to have the + sign.
I received information from TI FAE which can change the CC gain sign value by hidden I2C command. Currently, the gm.fs file and CC gain hidden reg are written separately into the DUT for initializing. If that hidden reg value are integrated into the gm.fs file, it would be better.

  • Hello Young Hoon Cha,

To change the sign of the CC gain value on the .gm.fs file, I recommend to upload the .gm.fs file to bqStudio, then change the sign of the CC gain value in data memory, then use bqStudio to export the .gm.fs.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
