TL431: The Value of ESD Machine Model

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering TL431AQPK and TL431AIPK.

They have a question, I would be grateful if you could advise.

Regarding TL431AQPK and TL431AIPK, the ESD voltages is described a ESD Ratings in the detasheet.

In case of TL431AQPK, HBM is +/-2500V, CDM is +/-1000V and Machine Model is +/-200V.

For TL431AIPK, HBM is +/-2000V and CDM is +/-1000V.

It is not described Machine Model.

Could you please let us know the value of Machine Model

Hello! Please refer to current datasheet in TI.com SLVS543R – AUGUST 2004 – REVISED OCTOBER 2023. Machine Model is no longer required.

The customer still wants to compare with TL431AQPK and TL431AIPK.

If possible, could you please provide reference value of the ESD MM spec.

Please show me the datasheet you are referring to with the Machine Model value.

Hi Lorena,

The customer is confirming TL431AQPK(SLGS302G) and TL431AIP(SLVS543R).

As you mentioned TL431AIP(SLVS543R) is not described MM.

On the other hand, TL431AQPK(SLGS302G) is described MM(+/-200V).

When you have any reference data, please provide it. It doesn't matter if you don't have it.

Furthermore, I looked into your comment and found out that I will no longer be using MM.

Hello! Please note that TL431AQPK uses the same datasheet as TL431AIP.TL431, TL432 Precision Programmable Reference datasheet (Rev. R) (ti.com)

You are referencing the TL431-Q1 (Automotived) datasheet for a non-automotive TL431AQPK device.

I understand TL431AQPK is the same datasheet as TL431AIP. I was mistaken.

The MM spec is not described.

Could you please let me know.

Is there any document about the "machine model is no longer required" that you mentioned?

That is correct. The JEDEC documentation is the reference.
