Hey all,
Can this device be operated in a constant output current mode? If not is there a buck-boost that can be?

Hi Robert,
Thanks for reaching out.
May I know what is the application here?
Yes, this device can operate at CC mode, you can program the output current limit in the Iout_LIMIT register, then it can work at CC mode with Iout=(Visp-Visn)/Rsense.

Hey Bryce,
Thanks for the response. The application is for charging a super capacitor bank as an energy reserve system.
Thanks,
Robert
Hey Bryce,
Is it possible to use WEBENCH to simulate the TPS55288-Q1 with a current limit set using the Iout_LIMIT register? I see there is a design calculator on the webpage, but I was curious if WEBENCH also allowed for that in the simulation.
Thanks,
Robert
Hi Robert,
It looks like the Webench mode doesn't include the output current limit feature. You can use the PSpice model to simulate that.
