TPS25830A-Q1: TPS25830A-Q1 about LD DET pin

Part Number: TPS25830A-Q1

Hi, Support Team

we have a question about the LD_DET pin of TPS2583xA-Q1.

Does it mean becomes active when it detects a USB connection?

It's active as soon as power it up, and the status doesn't change even if I don't connect a USB.

How can I test it to change LD_DET pin status?

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

please refer to the below table, LD_DET active low voltage not high voltage when there are UFP connection, UFP connection mean CC1/CC2 connect Rd=5.1k to GND .

  • Hi, Alfie

    I see. Thanks.
But why is the initial state on the EVM board as shown in the attached image?

CC1/2 is not 'Nothing Attached' when there's no USB connected?

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

    Thanks,

    Best regards,

    Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

yes, the lighting blue LED means there are no USB connected. do you want to connect type connect to laptop, type A connect to another USB sink, laptop communicate with USB sink by TPS25830A? in this case, maybe you need to make some change. cut CCline between TPS25830A and laptop, and then add 5.1k resistor between CC1 of laptop and GND.
