TPS1HC100-Q1: question for Enable pin of this device

Part Number: TPS1HC100-Q1

I’m using this component new into my design: TPS1HC100BQPWPRQ1

Previously I was using TPS1H100AQPWPRQ1 which EN pin Vin High was 2V

That’s why Im using a digital switch to provide 3.3V to EN pin. Using 1.8V from SoC to supply IN signal of digital switch (Pin 2 of Q9)

For the new IC Vin High is 1.5V,

Can I get rid of Q9 and connect my SoC directly to EN pin? Do you see a potential risk of not enabling the driver when is needed?

  • Hi Eduardo,

The VIH threshold for this device is 1.5V and so 1.8V will turn on the device. The lower logic high level allows the use of 1.8V to control the I/O of the device.

Please note that even with 1.8V on the DIAG_EN, the fault voltage on the SNS pin will be high. Please view the datasheet for fault voltage levels.

    Thanks,

    Shreyas
