TPS92520-Q1: What is the value of the internal resistor between CSNx and GND?

Part Number: TPS92520-Q1

Hello expert,

I see this resistor in the datasheet and what is the value? My concern is:

1.When output disconnected, how long it takes from the voltage drop from 50V to 5V? Cout is about 3uF

2.For ESD test, the ESD cap need discharge path, otherwise the voltage will be higher and higher during multiple test and may end up with damage of the cap and device.

  • Hello Zhiyuan,

    1) and 2)  I know it is on the order of 1 M ohms.  Not a strong pull down.  If you need additional discharge then you may want to add external resistor so there isn't charge build up between ESD discharges or you might have to wait longer.  The timing is just Tau (RC) for 63 % discharge time or 3*Tau for 95% discharge time.  I will get you specific value for R.  Assuming R=1 M ohm then you would have ~3.0 seconds for Tau and need 9 seconds between ESD discharges.  I would either forces a long time between ESD discharges or add the bleeder resistor.
