TPS3852-Q1: Can't disable WDO through SET1

Part Number: TPS3852-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer find when they pull down the SET1 Pin to GND, the WDO/ still has the output, which is not matched with the following waveform.

Only when they re-start the device (power off then power on), the WDO/ can be shut down.

Customer's waveform.

Support need:

Could you help to give the explanation for the behavior?

How to disable the WDO output?

BRs,

Haury

  • Hi Haury,

This is unexpected behavior. As when grounding SET1 the voltage will cross the Low-level input Voltage of (0.25V), and once this is done WDO will be held high. I have tested this in the lab to provide verification of proper operation in the screenshot below. Would you mind sharing your schematic?

    Thanks,

    Joshua

  • Hi Joshua,

    Thanks for your test.

Please help to review the sch.

  • Hi Haury,

I have reviewed your schematic and it looks fine. I have recreated your schematic and tested it within the lab and this resulted in the proper operation of the device, seen in the screenshot below. Do you have any additional TPS3852-Q1 ICs that you can test? (I believe there might be some device damage on the SET1 pin of this device, but if your result is replicated across multiple ICs then it would indicate otherwise).

    Thanks,
    Joshua
