Without Battery Gas Gauge showing 100% SOC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27500

Hi,

I am using gas gauge bq27500 - Version 130 in my system. Without battery i connected the charger to my system. BqEasy shows that Battery's SOC is 100%. As per datasheet SOC = Remaining Capacity/Full charge Capacity * 100 . Here both Remaining Capacity and Full charge capacity is zero. I need SOC to be zero without battery.  Is there any way to rectify this error ? Is my golden file creating this error or something else ? Please help me to get rid off this problem.

Thanks in Advance,

  • This is standard behavior for our firmware so you did nothing wrong.  You can either read Remaining Capacity to tell that it's really 0 or better yet check the BAT_DET (battery detect) bit in the Flags register to know whether a battery is present.
