BQ40Z50-R1: BQ40Z50-R1 -40C RSOC drop at the end of discharge

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Hi

The customer test with BQ40Z50-R1, The IDs 1156 and 1157 calculated by GPCCHEM were used for low temperature compensation respectively, and the verification test was performed according to the compensation file. The effect was not good. At -40 degrees, the CHEM ID of 1156, the RSOC jumped from 10% to 0%; The CHEM ID of 1157, the percentage jumps from 12% to 0%.

The -40c compensation report and GPCCHEM report as below:

3617.temp compensation-report.zip

The -40C log data as below:

数据跳变12%变为0% (1).xlsx

The gg file as below:

7043.gg.csv

How to improve this drop issue?

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

  • Hi Star,

Please change the load select to 1, the gauge will use the present avg discharge current to predict FCC. It looks like the gauge is overestimating capacity from last cycle.

I am inclined to say that the gauge is reporting 0% SOC because the terminate voltage is set lower than the ChemID lowest voltage (see below). Terminate Voltage in the settings is set to 5100mV / 2 = 2550 mV. The lowest voltage in the matched ChemID is around 3000mV.

Please change Term Voltage to 6V.

    Jose Couso
