BQ40Z50-R1: the battery can not 3A charge when UVP

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1

Hi

The customer test with BQ40Z50-R1, after discharge under voltage protection, it cannot be charged with 3A. It can be charged by adjusting it to 1A.

After charging for a while, it can be charged by adjusting it to 3A.

The screen as below:

The gg file as below:

20201111.gg.csv

Why the battery can not 3A charge but can 1 A charge when UVP protection?

Please help check it.

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

  • Hi Star,

I checked the settings to see if the Pre-charge (PCHG) feature was enabled, but it looks like PCHG is disabled, so this is not about pre-charging with the gauge

The closest settings that look to what you are describing is the low temperature charging current. Maybe the settings are telling the charger to charge with a current of 1A.

If this is not the issue, then the charger might have a built-in pre-charge phase. You might want to contact the charger experts (BCP team) for this.
