BQ24780S: The register set for BQ24780S

Hi,

We use the BQ24780S for the bettery charger, and now, the output voltage is closed after power on 3minutes,

The register set as below, please advise if there are any error, thanks.

    I noticed you commented that the discharge current is set to 10240mA (10.24A) which is very high.

    1- Is this a typo in the comment or is this the value actually set in the register? 

    2- Could you please provide more information in regards to your design and test setup?

    3- What is the adapter voltage/current? 

    4- Could you please provide your schematics?

  • Hi Aya,

    We test our board and the below is the test report:

    1. No load(no bettery), the ACOK signal has pulse after power on 2mins, and we have no any software control, the waveform as below:

    2. We delete the VQ3 MOSFET and the pulse waveform is remove, or we add the program the pulse is also remove;

    3. Add the battery, the BQ24780S has no charger current output, there are on pulse waveform;

    4. We set the I2C for the compel the output voltage, the charge current is normal ,but it is closed after 3mins.

    5. Please kindly check the diagram block if there are any error or we need to set the any I2C signal, thanks.

    One thing to note is the recommended operating frequency range below: 

    Output capacitance = 114.2uF --> f = 8.2kHz

    Also, once again, please do check the discharge current register value setting as it may be too high.
