BQ78350-R1A: BQ78350-R1A leakage current

Part Number: BQ78350-R1A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930

Hi

The customer design with BQ78350-R1A+BQ76930, there is still have leakage current after calibration.
After pressing the DISP button, LED light keeps blinking, it seems to be in balance.
The LED schematic as below:
The picture below shows the battery voltage. It is found that the voltage drops and rises once every 1S, and the time is 100mS.
The screen as below:
Please help check the schematic and gg file.
Please help check it.
Thanks

  • Hi Star,

It is not unknown that LEDs draw current. I see that there's a 100Ohm resistor in the LED path, see below for the EVM schematic. The 100 Ohm might be current limiters, but could be dissipating power.

What can be done is increase the Deadband to 50mA. This will inform the gauge to report 0mA for current less than 50mA. It has no gauging effect since the coulomb count will reset as I see the current going positive and negative, so the accumulated charge cancels out.

    Calibration Current Deadband Deadband 3 mA U 1 792 3 0 255 ddd x+0 x     mA 0x03
