BQ76952: OCD3

Hi Zhang,

The OCD3 threshold is going to be a negative value in units of userAmps (10mA). What is the hex value that you load into the register for the threshold?

Also, if CC1 Current doesn't exceed the threshold (-9A < -0.5A), then the fault won't trip.

Hi MAX,

My sampling resistance is 0.5 milliohm, the user unit is 10mA, OCD1,OCD2 threshold is 8A, so my OCD3 threshold is trying to write -450, which is hexadecimal 0xFE3E, or -9000 hexadecimal 0xDCD8, where the CC1 reading is 0xFE0C, which is -500mA. In this case, it conforms to CC1 Current <=protect :OCD3:Threshold for protections:OCD3:Delay, but OCD3 does not show fault in either way.

Hi Zhang,

How are you determining if the fault is triggered or not?

If you're using the FETs, make sure Settings:Protection:DSG FET Protections C [OCD3] is set.

If you're using the Safety Status C register, make sure Settings:Protection:Enabled Protections C [OCD3] is set.

Is there a problem writing my negative values above? If not, what else could be causing it.

This is odd. Can you explain your testing procedure to me? How are you triggering and detecting the faults?

Could you also provide your .gg config file?
