LM5122: Current Sense position

Part Number: LM5122
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP10886, PMP30491,

We are willing to implement a synchronous SEPIC with the LM5122 as described by the PMP10886 & PMP30491 reference designs. Would it be possible to implement the current sensing in the low side between the main MOSFET source and GND or between the 'secondary' SEPIC inductance and the GND (the 2 red arrows below) ?

About the related question posted around 2 years ago : could you detail a bit more why you do not recommend this solution ?

I can't find on the LM5122 datasheet if a blanking time is implemented on the current sense, is there one ?

What would be the effect on having a (very slight) negative voltage input in the CSP Pin when the current becomes negative in the inductance at low load and forced PWM mode ?

Thank you very much and have a nice day,

Baudouin
