TPS60400: -10V output with -5V input

Hi support team,

Is it possible to use TPS6040x in the following ways?
I want to input negative voltage and output negative voltage.

VIN = -5V
VOUT = -10V

Hi Dice,

I am not sure how you would generate -5V.

If Vin= 0V & GND= -5V, then you will get -10V Vout.

I recommend to follow the configuration in the datasheet. (Figure 9-8)

I would like to use TPS629210 with IBB to generate -5V.
Is it possible to generate -10V with a double TPS6040x configuration like the one below?

Hi Dice,

In that case, you just need 1*TPS6040x. The first stage should give you -10V. In any case, I suggest to try this config using our EVM and test it thoroughly before actual implementation.

May be you could also consider TPS63700 as an alternative.

I have understood that there is no need for double use as shown in Figure 9-8, and that it can be realized in theory with a single use as shown in the figure below.
