BQ24072: BQ24072

Part Number: BQ24072

In our project we using charging IC BQ24072RGTR model, as per our application 15min report interval once we monitoring the Temperature. We facing some Temperature accuracy issues while charging case, so we need to disable CE pin for last 4min before every cycles.(The cycles are 4times repeating every 1hr)

Q1.Any potential issues with charging IC behavior due to this modification?
Q2.Is there a risk of impacting battery life?

  • Hello Jagan,

Thanks for reaching out. This is a very interesting implementation. The only thing that we would heed warning to, is if you disabled the CE pin that would also reset the charging timer. Resetting the safety timer, increases the allowed duration to charge the battery which is normally a battery manufacturer spec. You are able to set the charging timers using the TMR pin.

In terms of risk of impacting battery life that may be in your battery datasheet, or a good question for your battery manufacturer.
