UCC28070: VOUT accuracy

Part Number: UCC28070

Team,

A customer of mine is trying to understand VOUT accuracy. VREF is used as reference and VSENSE for sensing the output voltage. But looking at the datasheet, something seems to be strange.

For VREF, a accuracy of ±3% is given. VREF/2 are used as one input for the transconductance voltage error amplifier. Second input is VSENSE. But for VSENSE the datasheet states ±2% accuracy. How should this be possible, achieving ±2% if the reference only has an accuracy of ±3%?

Thanks,
  Robert

  • Hello Robert,

I'm not sure how that could happen, but it is possible that the 3-V reference is the tightly-trimmed output and the 6-V reference is derived from the 3V by an amplifier gain of 2.

However that is accomplished, all devices comply to the datasheet min/max limits for each parameter.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
