TPS92200: Useful information about Spread Spectrum and circuit constants

Part Number: TPS92200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS922052, TPS922053

Hi,

Q1.
Are there any reference documents that explain Spread Spectrum?

Q2.
Does the TPS92200 have a pin function that can be turned on/off externally?

Q3.
Is there any reference information regarding the circuit constants when the input is 24V and the output current is 2A?

Thanks,

Conor

  • Hi Conor,

    1. TPS92200 does not have spread spectrum feature.
    2. You can use DIM pin to turn on / off TPS92200.
    3. I do not recommend you use TPS92200 for a 2-A output condition. You can consider using TPS922052 / TPS922053.

    Best Regards,

    Steven

  • Hi Steven,

There was a typo in the model numbers for Q1~Q3. We are considering TPS922052 instead of TPS92200. Is it possible for you to answer Q1~Q3 as TPS922052?

    Thanks,

    Conor

  • Hi Conor,

    For TPS922052 / TPS922053,

    1. TPS922052 does not have spread spectrum feature while TPS922053 has. You can refer to Section 8.3.1.2 Spread Spectrum from the datasheet. Currently we do not have any other documents about this.
    2. You can use EN/PWM pin to turn on / off the device.
    3. You can refer to Section 9.2 Typical Application from the datasheet to get some examples on how to design the circuit.

    Best Regards,

    Steven
