TPS25946: Can eFuse over current protection shut off time be slowed down?

Part Number: TPS25946
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2121

I'm looking for some help with the TPS25946. We're using several of these parts to channel power where we want and have had some unexpected results. When we're delivering power near 20V / 5A, we've had issues where the current limit protection shuts the part off too quickly and causes what we think is power to ripple back and blow up other parts in our circuit which are in parallel with the eFuse input/output (such as the MUX TPS2121).

We're wondering if there's a way to actually slow down the over-current protection so it turns off the spigot a bit more slowly? Normally the faster the better with circuit protection, but in this case it seems to be causing us problems.

Can DVDT cap value help in this area, or is that only for in-rush?
