TPS65994AD: Consultation regarding GPIO settings using GUI

Guru 19575 points
Part Number: TPS65994AD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1104

I'm trying to configure GPIO as below through GUI.

・GPIO0 ⇒ Re-deriver enable control

・GPIO4 ⇒ FLIP pin control for Re-deriver

・GPIO7 ⇒ Over Current detection output

 ※Others are unused

I would like you to check whether the settings configured in the GUI are correct.

I think the GUI is a private tool, so would it be possible for me to consult with you directly via email or Private Message?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi,

I am not sure when the redriver should be enabled, can you provide more detail on this so I can check if there are suitable events?

For FLIP pin control you can use cable orientation event

For over current detection use can use the following events.

  • Hi Tommy,

    Thank you for reply,

I have set the Port1 setting as below. Is this method correct?

    ・GPIO0 ⇒ Re-deriver enable control

        GPIO0 pin is connect to TUSB1104's SLP_S0# pin (4-pin).

    ・GPIO4 ⇒ FLIP pin control for Re-deriver

GPIO4 pin is connect to TUSB1104's FLIP/SCL pin (21-pin) with external pullup.

・GPIO7 ⇒ Over Current detection output

Used as a signal to notify the Chipset of Over Current detection (with external pullup), over Current output signal is active low.

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Hi,

I am not sure if SLP_S0# should be controlled by PD controller, please check with the redriver team first.

For GPIO4 you will need to map the event to cable orientation event (and depends on which port you have the redriver on)

For GPIO7 you will need amp the event fault condition active low event (and depends on which port you have the redriver on)

  • Hi Tommy

    Thank you for reply,

Customer have tried the method you suggested, but it is not working properly.

(Asserting Over current when unplugging the cable, not recognizing USB, etc.)

I received the circuit diagram from the customer, so would it be possible for me to consult with you directly via email or private message?

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi-san,

Tommy asked me to help out with this ticket. I'll send you an E2E friend request and we can communicate there.

Can you share the .pjt file as well?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris, Could you please explain what does .pjt file mean in detail please?

Thank you so much for your support in advance.

    Best regards,

    Jieyu

  • Hi,

.pjt file is referring to the project file's file extension name. Project file contains the user configurable settings that defines device functionalities.
