BQ25720: Power up process

Part Number: BQ25720
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIGER, BQ25710,

Hi Tiger,

I found the E2E thread as below, you mention the power up process may take 200ms, any write during this time may be lost. The delay 200ms is base on CHEG_OK assert or VBUS?

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1264347/bq25710-vin-discharge-slow-after-removing-adapter-acok-drops-delay-cause-charging-indicator-reaction-slow

Cheers,

  • Hi Far,

The delay is based on VBUS or VBAT under voltage and the time it takes to initialize all the circuits. For BQ25720, when VBUS exceeds VBUS_UVLOZ or VBAT exceeds VBAT_UVLOZ a power on reset is executed. 5 ms after either VBUS or VBAT becomes valid, the charger resets all the registers to the default state. Another 5 ms later, the user registers become accessible to the host. For BQ25710 the delay is 200ms.

    Best Regards,
