TPS7A20: Estimate Junction Temperature

Hello, I am using thermal resistance R_JA & R_JC to estimate the Top Case & Junction Temp of TPS7A20 in SOT-23 package. Is it correct approach ?

What Copper Area is considered for which following datasheet numbers are mentioned.

    To estimate the junction temp, please use R_JB. Since the DBV version does not have a thermal pad / heat sink, the top case can be dismissed.

    Please read the following application report LDO Thermal Performance to find out more information about estimating top case and junction temp.

    The copper area calculated from 6.4 thermal information is based on JEDEC standard, jesd51-7 test board. 

    Plane 1, 1 oz. solid (0.070 mm), area is JEDEC standard as said above. 

    I am looking into having the TPS7A20 SOT-23 package added into the PCB thermal Calculator.
