Hello,
I have some doubts regarding TUSB542, which are as below:
How can I connect TUSB542 to the HD3SS3220?
Who will send the Tx and Rx signals?
Do Tx and Rx pins interchange on the receiver side?
Hi,
Can you please share a block diagram of your design?
If using HD3SS3220, you should use TUSB522P.
If using TUSB542, you should use TUSB32x CC controller as shown in Figure 16 of the TUSB542 datasheet.
Thanks
David
Hi,
You have two ports, each port would need its own TPS25814 and TUSB542.
Thanks
David
Hi David,
Here Port 1 (Which will send the data(tablet/PC)) is my DCP and Port 2 (which will recieve the data (embedded controller)) is my UFP.
could you please tell me how i can charge my port 1 and also transfer the data to port 1 to port 2?
i have practically tried that if i want to charge my port 1 then i need to pull up the cc line and if i want to transfer the data then i need to pull down the cc line of my port 2.
Thanks,
Parth

The charging and the data transfer are two separate functions. But you can not share the 5V between the two ports. Each port needs to have their own separate power function as the power may be negotiated differently between the two ports. So you can still use TPS25814 for port 1 and HD3SS3220 for port 2. But the 5V needs to be broken between the two ports.
Thanks
David
HI David,
Thanks for your reply. I will break the connection of 5V between two of them and put another power negotiation device for port 2. Can i use the data communication after separate out the power supply i.e. 5V.
Thanks,
Parth
Hi Parth,
The data path should be fine, as you are MUXing through the 542 and de-MUXing with the 3220.
Best,
Shane
Hii Shane,
Thanks for your reply. As per our conversation, only i need to separate out the power supply for both ports.
