TPS650864: Zynq UltraScale+ resets while loading petalinux in custom design - UVLO flag

Part Number: TPS650864
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Dear all,

We have a custom design with a Zynq UltraScale+ and a TPS6508641 as a power block.

The board powers up properly and all the voltages form the TPS are OK, but as soon as we start loading the bit file and tries to start the ARM block, it restarts itself.

We have a USB2ANY connected to it to read the TPS registers, and i've seen that the reason for the restart is due to UVLO, that, as far as I read, this happens when the VSYS pin received les tha 5.6 volts of so.

We have the VSYS pin directly connected to 12V, and I've checked with the scope during the loading process the value of this voltage, and it never drops.

Do you have any idea where this issue might be coming from? Any further information you might need, please let me know!

BR,

Antonio

  • Hi Antonio,

    1. Please share your schematic and layout. I can set up a private message space if necessary.

    2. Can you share a full register dump after the restart? I would like to see the data in register 0x05 and registers 0xB2 through 0xB6 after the restart.

    3. Are you measuring the 12V input as close to the PMIC VSYS pin as possible?

    4. Are you seeing any issues with LDO5P0 or LDO3P3 prior to restart?

    Regards,

    James
