TPS27S100: TPS27S100APWPR: High side, Power Switch/Driver

Part Number: TPS27S100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22997,

Hi,

I am currently implementing Power Switch driver TPS27S100APWPR and will be using logic to toggle the output from 28V to open; a logic low at EN input I am expecting an open at the output and a H at EN input will give 28V at the output.

the question is, will the output go in the open drain mode when the input is LOW?

  • Hello,

When EN is low (EN<VIL), the output is no longer connected directly to the supply voltage.

However, whatever load you have on the output will hold up the output voltage through output capacitance or pull the output to ground through output resistance to ground).

The output will not be floating since you have a load there.

If you are referring to output discharge such as in the TPS22997 where the output will pull low internally to the device when (EN<VIL), the TPS27S100 has not internal quick output discharge.

    Best Regards,

    Elizabeth

  • I think you have answered my question, I just wanted to make sure that when EN is set low, that the output does not go low or go to ground.

    thank you, Hernando.
