LP8764-Q1: Programming NVM of PMIC on custom PCB

Part Number: LP8764-Q1

Dear,

We would like to use the LP8764-Q1 PMIC in one of our own designs. However, this would require programming a specific configuration to the device. From the LP8764x-Q1EVM, it is clear that this is possible using the scalable PMICs GUI over a USB connection. However, we are wondering how to implement this on a dedicated PCB using a precompiled binary file created in the PMICs GUI, and if it would be sufficient to only have access to the I2C-bus of the PMIC. Could you direct us to the correct documentation regarding programming the NVM of a LP8764-Q1 PMIC and the required HW for this application?

Kind regards,

Gertjan

  • Hi Gertjan,

    Please see thread https://e2e.ti.com/f/1/t/1182560.

Only I2C or SPI is needed based on the config on current PMIC. Any I2C host can be used for configuration upload and document in the mentioned thread should discuss about that as well.

We are working to release so called user-programmable version and more documentation and examples about this topic but it will take until mid-next year.

    Br, Jari
