TPS2836: Quiescent current condition

Part Number: TPS2836

Hello team,

On the datasheet, there are 2 quiescent current conditions depending on V(ENABLE) = LOW or HIGH.

However, this device doen't have Enable pin, so is this typo on datasheet? OR Is there some condition where this device goes to some kind of power save mode?

Best Regards,
Kei Kuwahara

  • Hey Kei,

Thank you for your question regarding the TPS2836.

This specific part does not have enable and therefore the quiescent current that your are looking for for this part is when V(ENABLE) = HIGH, with quiescent current being 300uA typically. When a part doesn't have enable, it can't go into the shutdown mode that enable implements and therefore cannot have that low quiescent current.

The reason that this enable spec is in the datasheet is due to the other parts within the TPS283x series that do have enable. The Related Synchronous MOSFET Drivers table on page 1 of the datasheet shows these other parts.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

    Thank you,

    William Moore
