UCC12040: About Multiple Connections.

Hi team,

I'd like to use UCC12040.
However, there is a possibility of a slight power shortage.
Is it possible to increase the power by assembling multiple UCC12040?

    Kengo,

    You can parallel the outputs for more power but there is no load sharing capability. For example if the load demand is 150% rated max power of a single UCC12040, you would expect that each UCC12040 should contribute 75% but in realty you may see that one UCC12040 is providing 100% and the other UCC12040 is providing 50%. Because of this, we do not promote or recommend this configuration of parallel outputs. Is it possible to partition the power differently so you can use 2x UCC12040 independently without having to parallel the outputs? Email me separately and refer to this E2E thread and we can discuss more detailed options?
