USB-TO-GPIO2: green LED does not illuminate

Part Number: USB-TO-GPIO2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138

Hi team,

My customer is using our USB-TO-GPIO and USB-TO-GPIO2 for UCD3138 firmware download, and there might be a condition that the Jtag pin connection is wrong by a reverse direction.

So that the PCB 3.3V will give to a signal pin, and after the wrong connection for a while, the USB-to-gpio/2 seems locked, and the green LED does not illuminate even customer correct the connection.

Do we have guideline for this condition, could the status could be back agagin? Or the adapter is damaged directly?

Thanks

Best regards

  • Hi Mia,

Can you please explain the steps leading up to the problem? I do not follow how the USB-TO-GPIO2 became locked. Did you apply a 3.3V signal to the wrong pin?

Also, you mentioned JTAG pin connection. However, the USB-TO-GPIO2 is not intended for JTAG. The USB-TO-GPIO2 is intended for PMBus, I2C or SMBus. Please use a dedicated JTAG adapter for the UCD3138, such as the XDS110: https://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSEMU110-U
